From block to drop: the panel decisions, the failed toiles, and the five structures that survived the table.
SS26 began as eleven structures. Five survived. This entry is the paper trail — what was cut, what was kept, and the seam decisions in between.
The toile stage
The cargo block went through four toiles before the knee articulation stopped fighting the pocket bags. The jacket lost its storm flap, then regained it a size smaller. The knit was rebuilt twice for weight alone. Nothing in the drop is undecided cloth.
A piece earns its place by surviving the table, not by arriving with a story.
What was cut
Six structures did not make it: two because they repeated a silhouette already resolved, one because the fabric could not hold the line at wearable weight, and three because they were good — and good is not the bar.
The five that remain are the argument. The Journal will document each one as the drop approaches: block, toile, correction, final.
